Poll: How do you normally surf AAPK?
I have a way I always use to surf AAPK. In fact, there is a link up on my favorites bar that I use to get to AAPK that takes me directly to my favorite AAPK surfing tool (New Posts). I feel like I seldom if ever miss a new post using this method. Just wondering what others do and how satisfied they are with their method.
These are the Quick Links listed in the poll. This is the link to AAPK/New Posts that I have on my favorites bar.

I always check new posts first, then your posts and finally unread posts unless I'm specifically looking for something like research.

When I log into AAPK I go to General Knife discussion, then to Q&A, Buck, Case, then General off topic. I do look at other sub-forums on a random basis. OH

Do you ever find posts in "Your Posts" or "Unread Posts" that you didn't see in "New Posts"? I just wonder if I'm missing something by relying almost solely on "New Posts"gsmith7158 wrote:I always check new posts first, then your posts and finally unread posts unless I'm specifically looking for something like research.

Re: Poll: How do you normally surf AAPK?
I usually go straight to General Knife Discussion. After that it's pretty much random for me. Sometimes I'll stop by the Case or Queen forum or the Knife Q&A forum.
I haven't used it yet but the "New Posts" option sounds like a great idea. I'll probably give that a try.

In the mornings I go to the off topic section ( first cup diner) and check in there, then it's helter- skelter from then on. I'm quite sure I miss things now and then I would enjoy

I check to see if there is any response to anything I have posted, then I just wander around.

Generally, I start at the first forum near the top of the page and just keep going to the bottom. I don't check all forums unless a post catches my interest.

Yes I do Jerryd. Frequently I will find a response to one of my posts that I didn't see in new posts and sometimes if I haven't checked in a day or two I will find an interesting topic in unread posts that had disappeared from the new posts.jerryd6818 wrote:Do you ever find posts in "Your Posts" or "Unread Posts" that you didn't see in "New Posts"? Re: Poll: How do you normally surf AAPK?
I used to navigate by using almost exclusively the "Active Topics" tool. I eventually realized I was missing a lot of what was posted. For some reason not all the forums are included in that format. For example, the Canal Street forum never did appear when using that tool even if the Canal Street forum was quite active at the time. There are other forums that never show up as well.
I now use the "Unread Posts' tool and I believe I'm getting the chance to pick from all the recently made posts that I have not yet read. Time does not permit me to read every single post that is made on AAPK, but I'm getting a chance to do so using "Unread Posts".

Interesting topic. I find hard to believe more guys don't start with "unread post". But that's just me.

Re: Poll: How do you normally surf AAPK?
I check and read new posts that catch my eye in a series of forums, General, Knife Related Questions, Counterfeits, Knife Lore, The Robeson Sub-Forum and General Off Topic.
If there are new topics or additions in The Political, Controversial, Mostly True Stories or The Upper Room,I will look at those.
Needless to say, this all takes a bit of time and I do it at least twice daily, sometimes more.

I usually start with New Posts, then go browse around in Unread Posts, or start a search on whatever I happen to be actively looking for information on.

I always go to Knife Lore first, reading all new posts, then work my way up through Counterfeit Watch, Knife Related Q and A and then General Knife Discussion. Have never tried any other method.

At the moment I usually go the General Knife and check out the "what are you carring right now" thread to see all the cool knives that are being carried. Then its off to the races.

I typically go to General Knife Discussion, then Benchmade, Case Knife Collector's, then browse around to whatever looks interesting. However, I think I'll try the "New Posts", sounds more productive.

Re: Poll: How do you normally surf AAPK?
I start with new posts, then go to unread posts, then to the Case Forum to see if anything there I have missed. From there if I have time I just wander around. I frequently end up reading an old thread from several years ago, getting an education and being entertained at the same time!

I thought it was a good time to revive this topic and see if the populous still navigates/surfs AAPK in the same manner. So what say you AAPK’ers, how do you normally surf AAPK?

My eyes go immediately to my notifications to see if I have any. Then if I don’t, I go to New Posts.
