Sheffield Craftsmanship

Post by Sheffieldguy »

These are three from my small collection that demonstrate the great filework that Sheffield craftsmen executed on some of their knives. The top knife is a George Ibberson in stainless steel, the middle one a pearl William Rodgers (Stan Shaw), and the bottom one a W. Mills & Son (Ernest Mills) in sterling silver. Would love to see pics of other workback knives anyone may have!

Welcome here, Sheffieldguy.
That is very impressive and accurate work.
I don't have anything like that.

Hi Sheffieldguy welcome. You need to trawl through the archives on here and you will find examples but no one said collecting knives is easy. Good luck. Are you from Sheffield?

Hey Gerry, Thanks for the welcome. Not from Sheffield...born here in Regina, Saskatchewan Canada! But I have traced my ancestry on my Mom's side back to Yorshire, and actually have relatives buried in Sheffield Cathedral! Would love to visit one day! I love Sheffield knives and pick up any books on them that I can find. Would love to see some of yours if possible. regards, Bob
