4 Blade cattle knife.

I picked this knife up and still haven't been able to ID the pattern. I believe it is between R3000-R3050. It's 3 3/4, has angled crimped bolsters. The clip blade has a very odd shape that I've never seen. Any information you have I'd appreciate. Warning....its a little rough.

Keith,I've seen spey blades with a hump on the top before.I speculated that it could be used as a gauge when being used for it's intended purpose on a calf.

That sure could be. The thumb fits just right in the top of the blade.

This is an old Henry Sears and Son 1865 with a humpback spey blade.

I didn't do an exhaustive search but after a quick look, I found Remington catalog examples of two blade "surveyors" (also called "swell center canoe" and more recently "railsplitter"). The two blades are R53 and R55. I don't know the number for the 4 blade.

One model of Surveyor from Remington is a scout pattern with bail, punch, and can opener. Found one example.

When you posted this knife in the other topic I didn't fully understand how different your main blade was. Now I do.
