better photos

Post by Berryb »

Here are some better photos. I think they may have been polished, but my gut thinks they're real. I know the guy that has them thinks they are.
Some things I noticed though; The tang stamps don't seem too crisp especially on the whittler. The whittler has a steel wedge between the springs. Both shields look to pinned. The handles are pinned with brass. The tang stamp is buried behind the bolster on the one mystery knife.
There also is a KaBar on the pile too, Anybody know what the knob on the end cap is?
I sure could use some input here. I'm a beginner and Case knives make me nervous. There seems to be as many bad ones as good ones out there.
Thanks
Bruce

The photos are way too dark to make out much or answer your questions. Can't really see the tang stamps. Better photo's are necessary. If you need to make a decision right away and the money is significant to you, walk away. There are plenty of knives out there.

The wedge between the springs on the whittler is correct, split spring whittler. Both springs operate the main blade.

I can tell you this based on the photos that you have posted - I am confident enough on the two Case knives that I would buy them from you if you get them. If you want to talk price and what to offer, please PM me.
