" Spoke " to JR yesterday.
I sent JR a short email yesterday, and he wanted me to say Hi to all the gang here at AAPK. Says he's really appreciated the mails he's received from others too.
His first surgery is scheduled for 1/14, and if all goes well, the second for 1/22. He'll catch up here in between if possible.
He's learned that steroids can cause cataracts ! Something that all us geezers with creaky joints should keep in mind.

If it's meant for me to have it, it'll still be there.

Hey Fellers !
First and foremost, I wanna thank everyone on the forum for the replies, emails, cards and well wishes. They truly meant a lot.
Got the first eye done on the 14th - that one didn't go so well - still bothers me just a bit. The second one they did this past Tues. and now I can see well enough to shave the whiskers off a gnat, at arm's length ! Best of all, the glare is gone, from lights and things like the computer screen, etc.
Gosh, the place has been busy !! It'll take me awhile to catch up on all the posts, and there've been some terrific pictures posted while I was absent. New forums too !! That's great, I wanna get started back in my shop, with some kitchen stuff, sometime soon.
And we've got a whole slew of new members, lately ! Welcome to you all, this is the friendliest forum on the Internet ( and most helpful ).
Haven't done any knife trading lately - haven't done much of anything except exercise my elbow, actually. I did buy 3 of the Steel Warrior's, to tear apart and examine - ala` Hukk's report from 3 or 4 months ago. Overall, I tend to agree with the Hukkster. I'll post what I find, sometime soon.
Gosh, it's great to be back ! It's gonna take a coupla pots of coffee, to read all the neat posts.
Thanks boys and girls,
JR
