Does anyone know the maker of the knife? The only mark on it other the name on the blade is the star tang stamp

ScoutKnives may be right, but there have been at various times several cutlery companies using the name "Hudson". Goins' Encyclopedia lists Benjamin Hudson (no information), Hudson Cut. Co. c 1939 Howard City, Michigan, Hudson Knife Co. Germany c 1927, Hudson Line (no information), Hudson Valley Cutlery Co. N.Y. c 1900-1920. No indication of what markings, if any, were used by these companies.

I believe Boker may have used a star mark but on the pile side of the blade. Others may have used the star also.

They did that for their knives for Primble, anyway.

Except that the star on the OP knife is on the wrong side.

I have seen it on the Primble knives. It normally has the model number with it and has John Primble on the other side.

Ahh, thanks fellers. I knew there was one around here someplace with the star on the tang but just couldn't remember the brand. Tis indeed Primble.
