Challenge Cutlery Co, Bridgeport--ID?

I've been reading around on these forums and seen a little info on the Challenge Co brand and history, but none about my particular knife. I picked it up at a sale recently and I'm curious if there's any way of dating it or determining the worth. It's a 4-blade folding pocketknife with a stag handle, blades are pretty rust-damaged, though I've cleaned it as well as I can. It's stamped with Challenge Cutl. Co, Bridgeport Conn., and one of the blades has '28' stamped on it. Is there any meaning to that? I've attached photos of the knife and a close-up of the tang marks (if you can read it). Also wondering what the sharp, triangular blade is for. Thanks!

cfl140, You have a well used knife there and I would guess it till has good action and is still a strong knife.
My experience with Challenge cutlery is that they made very stout knives.

The triangle blade you reference is, I assume, a leather punch. You have a equal end cattle knife.
Can you show pictures of all the blades? How long is the knife closed?

If you haven't already done so, search for "Challenge Cutlery" on this website (see Quick links at top left). You will find a good bit of info, such as this exchange: viewtopic.php?t=17816.

Also, there are four Challenge knives for sale in the AAPK store. As for value, if the blades have snap and don't wobble and there is no damage beyond the few pin cracks I think I see, say a few tens of dollars.

I think you should declare yourself an addicted collector and join the fun here.
