Did Camillus Really Make This One?

I am attaching a photo of this jack knife with spiral punch. Wasn't the spiral punch a product of Camillus?
This knife is stamped LAKESIDE CUTLERY CO. which, according to Goins, is a Montgomery Wards product (1920-1930)
If not made by Camillus then any idea as to which company might have made it?

Ray,that looks like a Camillus punch to me.New York Knife also had a spiral punch as well,but it was made different.

I agree, it looks like a Camillus punch.

It's not the definitive end all, be all but all I can tell you is that stamp is not in the Kastor List.

Your first instincts were right Ray, I am 99.9% sure it's Camillus made!

Not only the spiral punch but the basic knife, shield, etc. look like Camillus to me. I think a bit later maybe 30's to 40's. Several manufacturers made knives for M Wards but that is the first that I could see being a Camillus knife. Not totally surprising. Any company that had their knives mad on contract may have had several contract manufacturers going at any give time, some with limited orders to fill in production as needed.

Utica also used a spiral punch blade .

That is a nice harness jack. My Ritchie & Stewart 5th edition states: Lakeside Cutlery (Challenge) was a Montgomery Ward brand in the 1920's. Challenge Cutlery Co. Bridgeport, Conn. 1867-1928. Sure looks like other Camillus punches I have seen though.

I will add this to the evidence that different manufacturers made Wards knives. First photo shows a Camillus cattle knife (with broken spiral awl) next to a Wards cattle knife with spiral awl. Second picture shows a Utica knife with awl next to Wards cattle knife, neither of which are spiral. The Wards cattle knife in the first picture has steel bolsters and the second picture Wards cattle knife has nickel silver bolsters. So my thinking is that the spiral punch Wards cattle knife was made by Camillus and the plain punch Wards cattle knife was made by Utica.
