Old case tested with no numbers

Guy at a local gun show had a box of knives he called them ( old and broken). I got their early enough to get to dig through them first.their were your typical China junk like you would expect, but underneath I found a mako,3 blade case xx, queen mini trapper, and a few others for about $5 a piece. Also this one I thought it was a lil imperial. just said Case tested xx. I think it Maby from the 20’s -40’s. Ani believe the handles are celluloid
Any info from you case professors would be appreciated

The handles are starting to decompose or outgas. You need to remove the handles from the knife. It will only get worse. Very nice blade. Are you going to restore it?

Don’t know. Just got it Saturday. Had never seen one of these. It’s a small knife

Yes the handles are celluloid and as knife-nut said since they are decomposing you should get them off the knife. The out gassing will destroy all the metal parts of the knife. I think this is a pattern # 31024 1/2. Is the knife 3" long closed?

Got the handles off what now? Does anyone recommend some one that could restore it?
