Something different
I've only made one of these! A good customer of mine brought me over a African Lion skull a couple of years ago and wanted me to make two huge knife blades to put in the lower jaw bone. Then I made the walnut stand and mounted both knives and the skull on it. Quite a project to say the least , but thought I would show it to who ever is interested.

Double WOW! Terry. That is a very impressive display. I suspect few people, including myself, have ever seen a lion's skull.

Re: Something different
guess I should have started this post with these photo's. The customer brought me the already cleaned and bleached skull. I cut the bottom jaw in half to start with and left all the teeth in place.

Thanks for all the replies guys! I knew you guys would like to see it, not too many lion skulls in my neck of the woods! I should have put a ruler by it, it is bigger than it appears, the table it is on measures about 36"::tu:: Terry

Great job and display. Thanks for the 36 in reference, those aren't small blades. Those jaw bones are impressive both before and after.

Re: Something different
thanks for the replies, I did make him a miniature model using a bobcat skull but don't have a photo of it. It was kind of cute! but the blades were just epoxied on the back, not thick enough to drill a hole for the tang. The gentleman had been a really good customer of mine, making over 30 knives, so I gifted him the bobcat model. Made his day!

I did find a photo of the bobcat display, got the crs kicking in! The knives are only about 6" overall length.
