study first, then you'll have a better idea of what knifemaking entails.

get a copy of wayne goddards $50 knife shop, everything you need to know to begin and cheap alternatives for power tools. Anything that can be made with a power tool can be made with a hand tool, you just have to have the desire and patience.

Revencer, read what Jonet's saying...study and put forth the effort.

You can make a knife ( a durn good knife ), with zero power tools, but it's gonna take longer. The more and better tools you use, the faster and better your knives will be. Even without power tools, you'll hafta invest in quality hand tools, you can't make a knife with your bare hands.

Find a knifemaker in your vicinity, ask nicely and he'll allow you to visit his shop... if you're close to Harrison, Ark. you can come to my shop. Knifemakers, generally are the most knowledge-sharing you will ever find.

One more point, before I stop - making knives is dangerous, in several ways - remember that, please. Fools rush in, ya know.....

Look at the Knife repair and restoration topics, here. Read the tutorials, learn how it's done. If you'd like to PM me, feel free - anything I know I'll share.

Be careful,
