Russel Greenriver Works /Bluegrass knife ?
I picked this up yesterday at a yardsale.Old man said it was his fathers and he has had for fifty years. The second blade looks long but fits nicely when closed. The front tang is marked J.Russell Greenriver works with an R inside a diamond, the back of the tang has Bluegrass and Belknap trademark. It is a large knife and built very solid. He said his father carried it as a stagecoach driver for Wells Fargo and a Texas Ranger.Has anyone seen these two tang marks on the same blade before, thanks for any information.

Very cool old knife Scott
... I can't really help with the question of seeing one but Belknap retailed Russell knives and later started their own brand of Bluegrass - all of which you may know already... I just wonder if they used Russell blades and stamped their own Bluegrass mark on the pile side for the knives - just guessing
... I like the story too about its carry on the stagecoach - looks like the kind of knife for the job
...

WOW! Looks legitimate to me.Old Russell stamp and what looks like ebony handle.Never saw a Russell with another stamp on it but it looks real. Great find!
