vintage 1950's style pocket knives

Post by flatheadbrothers »

New to the site and I have a question , is there a company out there that can make custom pocket knives in the style of the old 50's advertising knives ? An example would be like the old Purina pocket knives but with your own verbiage inserted. I've seen a few companies online but none seem to offer anything in that style. Not sure if these were bakelite or what material they may have used. thanks in advance

I'm pretty sure Kaleb or some of the others could modify an existing knife for you with clear handles and a theme. I don't know of any company where you can order one. You might look in knife repair & restoration for Glen, Muskrat Man that do the custom work.

There was a company in Rochester, NY, that contracted with Robeson, but of course, that relationship would have ended in 1965 or so.

However, they are still in business and possibly are getting knives from someone else.

Check out Bastian Brothers, Rochester, New York. They were and still are, a purveyor of advertising novelties.

You could contact SMKW and see if they would be willing to do a special order for you:

BTW, apparently, SMKW owns the trademark "Novelty Knife Co."
