Here is a 3" Serpentine Whittler with ivory handles and bolsters that look like gold that is marked on the tang of all 3 blades with the Hen & Rooster logo over "Solingen". The back tang of all 3 is marked "111/Germany".
The C. Bertram company in Solingen made many contract knives which they marked with their Hen & Rooster logo along with the name of the company that ordered them. The names we most often see in North American are those of two importers Gutmann Cutlery and Voss Cut. Co.
So, who is "111" ?
Although these pictures do not fully capture the color, 'in person' the bolsters look to be gold or gold plated.
Thank you for any information you might have that would help 'understand' this knife more fully.
