Schrade Cutlery Company was founded in 1904 by George Schrade, and his brothers Jacob and William Schrade. In 1946 Imperial Knife Associated Companies, (IKAC; an association of Ulster Knife Co and Imperial Knife Co) purchased controlling interest in Schrade Cut Co and changed the name to Schrade Walden Cutlery. In 1973 the name was changed to Schrade Cutlery. In 2004 Schrade closed due to bankruptcy.

This forum is dedicated to the knives that are the legacy of this company. This forum is not the place to discuss the replica knives currently being imported using the Schrade name.

Well, this knife just went for a reasonable price (imo), but not to me; I already had too many lines in the water and not enough bait. Who made it? Schrade CutCo as a 2203 3/4 SFO for Shapleigh? Or was it Schrade Walden, who made it as a SFO for Shapleigh BEFORE THEY RELEASED THE 2OT?

This is a regular production knife made by Schrade for Shapleigh. From the 19 teens to the 1940's Schrade made the majority of Shapleigh's knives. This knife appears in the 1942 Shapleigh catalog. I would post a picture if I knew how. Not an SFO Knife. On a personal note, this specimen is also heavily cleaned which is a major pet peeve for me.

I snagged that one. It's a Shapleigh B376 - Schrade 2203-3/4.
