Some Outstanding Stabilized Spalted Mango

Post by Hukk »

I also have an entire board that I cut up, then I sent off to be stabilized. This was Spalted Mango that was lighter than balsa wood I think. I stopped sanding the wood prior to sending it off because a sneeze would remove a 1/4 inch of wood with an old worn out belt. (remove the marks from the bandsaw kerf)

This stuff looks really great and very unusual. The board was not 100% square, but I liked the wood so much I just cut it all up and some edges are not even. To much waste of good wood to do so.

The 2 pictures I will put up are of the same pieces. I took 1 picture and then fipped the wood over and left them in the same place. They look so very different, it will be neat to bookmatch.

Double click pictures to really see the wood. I left the pictures large to see the wood well.

These will also be for sale - eventually.
