VOOS blade question

Found this beautiful bone Voos arrow while trolling the 'bay.
SELLER'S PICTURES ... obviously

What concerns me is the color of the main blade. It looks 'blued' but I don't think it's patina.
To me, it looks more like the blade has been heated in some manner. Maybe torched ...

What do you learned gentlemen think ??

Be a shame if the blade was ruined on this 'un ....

Chris, I agree that the blade looks a bit off. You maybe right about someone having heated it. I don’t like these sellers who say they are selling it “as found” and all the cleaning is up to you. They make it sound like they are doing me a favor by doing this. I prefer at least some cleaning so I can tell what I am really getting into. I don’t want the blades polished by a machine, or sharpened, but some using some Simichrome on the metal will tell me quite a bit more than just throwing it out there “as found”.
I don’t bother to bid on auctions that use that phrase “as found”. But that’s just my bias.

Chris, Randy (#goldpan) has one of those that's pretty old in his store right now. Take a look at the blades on his. They look a bit different than on yours so I do think the blades may have been heated for some unknown reason.

Two things may be happening here:The picture may be reflecting something in the background(possible but not likely)or the blade may have been stained by cutting something acidic. On very brightly polished blades they will develop a patina similar to "water trying to mix with oil" which can or cannot be easily cleaned. That is what this looks like to me. I have also seen polished blades that have been heated(but not enough to disturb the temper)that exhibit this finish. JMHO

That's patina from cutting food or something similar. I've had the same blue color happen on many of my blades. A blue patina is more noticeable on a high polished blade.
