8) Finally had time to watch the full video and it is Outstanding! ::tu:: I really enjoyed watching him build that log cabin. I also read up on some History of the man and I found him to be quite an amazing individual. Thanks for the link. ::nod::

That was a real pleasure to wotch a man in the wilds of Alaska and makin do for himself. Gives me a real sense of how little we all need to survive and prosper. Ahhhh, to the simple things of life. ::nod::

I've watched that program on PBS at least 4 times and still don't get tired of it. What a rugged outdoorsman who could survive on his own. If it was me, I would have frozen and starved to death in no time.

I have seen this a couple of times. I don't think I have seen it all the way through though. Caught the last half here, seen the first hour later. My Girlfriend is a Librarian, so I think I will ask her to try and bring a copy home for a few days.

I can't watch this without being a little homesick. I starts the yearning for me to get out of the lower-48. When I lived there I had a small cabin about 5 miles out of Homer I rented for $175 a month. Granted I had electric heat, lighting, etc., but no running water. In a way I miss driving into town to fill two surplus 5 gallon water cans. There are times I even miss using an outhouse. I really miss Alaska. I miss the people, the live music, freedoms, I even miss Winter (which was not all that bad, at least in Homer on Kachemak Bay), just the whole attitude and lifestyle.

God-Willing I can get my Girlfriend up there within a couple years and hope she likes what she sees...LOL.
