Remington Art

If you can think of something to talk about that is not related to knives, discuss it here.

They commissioned a lot of different outdoor artists to do their box artwork.
Some names of note are: Frank Xavier Leyendecker, Lynn Bogue Hunt, Tom Beecham, Larry Duke and Bob Kuhn.
The one in your picture is by Kuhn.

One of the most well known artists who did that type of outdoor advertising art was Philip Goodwin. I know he did some art for Winchester Arms but not sure whether he did any for Remington. Several years ago I saw an exhibit of his work at the National Museum of Western Heritage in Oklahoma City.

The vintage advertising art from Remington, Winchester, Peters, Federal, etc. is great. Here is a page of nice examples: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/255508978 ... 8/?lp=true.

You can buy inexpensive poster versions of many at AllPosters.com. For example: https://www.allposters.com/-st/Guns-Rif ... 01889_.htm. Lots of nice vintage fishing advertising too.
