Uncle Henry ?

Picked up an Uncle Henry today and the tang stamp has Schrade Walden N.Y. U.S.A. Stainless.
It looks like a 897 with no model number, just wondering what year it was manfactured? I don't recall ever having one with the Walden tang stamp. As long as I can buy and trade into them cheap I'm going to get all I can.

The 897 with the Walden tang stamp would of been made between 1967 when they were first produced until 1973 when the Walden name was dropped, early models of 897's had a serial number inside the brass liner. picture would be good, did you have al ook on the reverse side of the main blade for a pattern number?

The number 87510 is stamped on the inside brass liner and stamped stainless on the other two blades. I don't recall having any UH's with the Walden stamp but didn't really pay attention. I carried more Schrades and UH's when younger because they were much cheaper than a Case and seems that every store back then had a Schrade display. Wednesday I'm going to look at a small Schrade display a friend has to trade. Thanks,

I have two 897UH examples like wv trapper 1's. One before and one after his serial number. Both are stamped like his. No pattern stamp on the back of the tang. I have a post 1973 version, with the number stamped on the 4th line. I'd be curious to know if the 285UH, or 885UH (or any of the 897's) had the pattern stamping on the Walden versions. The 897UH is the only Walden Uncle Henry pattern I've ever touched. Seems like the big folding hunters, 127UH and 227UH may have. I believe those were the only Schrade Walden Uncle Henry folders.
