New Years Resolutions
Maybe some of you make New Years resolutions and maybe some of you don't. I have over the years waffled back and forth between trying to make them and vowing not to. One time a few years ago I made a New Years resolution never to make New Years resolutions again! Some times they can be very grandiose self improvement projects. Sometimes they can be very minor, such as one I made a couple of years ago that I was not going to stand by the toaster in the morning and wait for the toast to come out. Anyway, make whatever resolutions you want, major earth shaking or minor. Mine for the coming year is to get more "eyepiece time" behind my DSLR with telephoto lens in the chair blind I have to get a few more close up wildlife photos. Didn't do much of it at all over the past couple of years. I hope to get more bald eagle shots, some wild turkeys, deer, fox, coyote and whatever (Bigfoot?)
Anyone else making a New Years resolution?

Jim, you're not going to get many wildlife pictures in the house unless the wife happens to....... Oh forget it.

The Goodwife and I are kind of gym rats at our YMCA and we, along with some other 'regulars' speak of the January crowd as the 'Resolutionaires.' They mostly disappear after that.
Meanwhile, I am going to try to learn more and get handier with digital devices such as phone, camera, tablet, and 2 different GPS units. I am behinder than I need to be on this stuff.

I quit making them long ago - I just break or forget eventually. OH

Supposed to be funny because of the dual meaning. Not funny if you have to explain it. Re: New Years Resolutions
I'm not into New Years resolutions at all. New Years is just another day in the wilderness.MITCH RAPP wrote:I'm not real big on New Years Resolutions either. However I am always aware of things that need to be taken care of and or improved. Every January I tell myself this is the year I am finally going to retire and I never do! I am having a Really Hard Time letting go of Work and just staying at home. That and the fact of a reduced income, living in a Tax Crazy State like California, doesn't Help either!
As for retirement, I left my career job and eased into retirement by working several years as a part-time consultant. It was fun but when I got tired of it and was ready to really retire, I just started raising my fees until no one would hire me.
Of course I still have the ranch work to keep me out of the pool halls.

ROBERT! Glad to see you are alive and well!
I ran across one of your old posts the other day and I thought then that it had been a long time since you had logged in. I looked it up I think it was in the spring of 2018, iirc.
No more going AWOL man, you have too much knowledge tucked away in that head of yours plus you can access things in your locale that we can't find on the side of the pond!
I would love to see a post of all the new tools you have picked up in the last six or eight months.
Some of those antique Brit tools are pretty unique, I would love to see some pictures!
Welcome back and have an awesome 2019!

Ah, resolutions...
Um, I have a temper.
It’s better if I keep it.
Enough said.

Re: New Years Resolutions
Last year my New Year's Resolution was to not make any more New Year's Resolutions. It has been difficult, but I stuck with it. It is the only resolution that I have been able to keep.

Re: New Years Resolutions
I did not make any resolution this year. My wife and daughter have made enough that I do not need to make any! Most of theirs involve not eating anything that is fittin' to eat, which is a resolution that no one can possibly keep. But if I have learned one thing in sixty five years, it is not to question a woman's resolutions!
