A few Schrade variations in numbering side by side

The first one here causes me a little concern but blade etch does say 1 of 1 but it appears to read as 100 and is possitioned incorrectly I would say it is suspect ????? the last one had to be done on reverse side as the other side is engraved.



This one below was not done at the factory.

The first Schrade s/n 001 reads correctly if the knife is positioned with the shield right-side-up. The wood handles are fasinating, but I can only identify the curly maple. What are the other woods, particulary the Ducks Unlimited?

Im not really sure what timber is in the handles and you have different timber over there than we do in Australia, I think they often used rosewood in these which is somehow impregnated with the resin they use to coat it. I tried cutting the finish back on one once and it seemed to go right into the surface of the timber.
