Anyone Besides Me Seeing This When Posting

After I hit Submit, I see this. (it comes and goes quickly)
Submit Results.jpg
Then the screen looks like this.
Submit after Results Screen.jpg
Plus I can no longer drag and drop images. I have to go through the "Add files" button to upload an image.

Let me see what happens.....

I got a normal screen when I posted above. I recall in the past when the server crashed it took Bryan a good while to bring everything back up to full speed. I suspect that will be the case today as well.

I understand but if we're having abnormal things happen, Bryan may not be seeing the same thing so If we don't bring it up he won't know to put it on his list of things to check out.

The black space above the AAPK forum is actually the same thing as that blurb of text you were first seeing. If you'd highlighted the black space, you would've see the same text in white. There was some sort of database issue going on which didn't impact my ability to post but did prevent me from uploading photos, and also caused the Barlow graphic in my signature not to appear. It looks like it's fixed now, the signature shows up correctly and I believe we can post pics again...

Thank you! ::handshake:: It is a Queen-built Robeson, currently in my LFP. I believe Charlie would probably take issue with Queen using the "MasterCraft" marque on this knife, but I like it just fine and it is quite a "swell" whittler. I knew 100% that I would be toting it along with the new 06 as soon as the little GEC arrived.

By the way everything looks to be back to normal now.

Just an opinion but for me, Queen did a much better job on the knives they made for others than those with the Queen label. That Robeson is a fine example of what I'm talking about. The late '80s - early '90s Winchesters are another that comes to mind.

So easy to get derailed when a fine knife like that pops up.

I may have spoken too soon.

it appears the number picker for the giveaways that we normally use is completely shot. The February knife giveaway only has two entries total at this point, and the month is nearly over.

Here's a screenshot from my phone.

I could not log onto AAPK for half a day yesterday, neither from my PC or my phone.

I know it was due to manufacturing costs, but Queen put MasterCraft and PocketEze shields on their Robeson reproductions and didn't go to the trouble and expense to actually reproduce the knives. They didn't put a bronze bearing on the tangs of their MasterCraft knives and they didn't make the blade backs flush with the frames on their PocketEze knives.

And they used a "Frozen Heat" etch on some knife blades, but I doubt very seriously they actually went through the previously patented quenching process that Robeson used to create those blades.

And they "reproduced" knives that Robeson never actually made.

If I had been in on the design team for those knives, no one would have been able to afford them. ::facepalm::

Might be nice to see GEC or the CSC take a crack at more authentic Robeson knives now that Queen is out of the picture...

IIRC there is now a "Canal Street Co-operative" making knives under the CSC marque.
