Computer Question

Post by just bob »

If you use Windows when you go to ebay and hover over a picture a box with text in it describing the picture comes up. This is annoying because when you go to enlarge the picture the box with the text is in the way. I have found this box is called tooltips and have searched and found a way that is supposed to have removed this box with text, but it didn't work for me. When I'm on my MSN home page and hover over picture this same box with text comes up. so it is not an ebay only phenomenon. I also understand if you're using Firefox or other some of the other browsers this does not come up. Has anyone encountered this and solved the problem? I did find that if you hover over the picture and then left click a drop down menu pops up if you right click right away then menu and the box with text are gone and the picture is there without distractions.

I have windows VISTA. When I hold the mouse curser over the image it does that, but not when I click and enlarge the image. I now have two Amazon Kindle Fire tablets. 7 inch and 10 inch. comes with SILK browser. The 10 in is much faster with my satellite dish. Rarely use Bing and it is now obsolete.
www.duckduckgo.com Is better for searching images.

I would suggest that before buying a new computer you try downloading a different web browser. I have Google Chrome and MS Explorer both on my Windows computer. Both of them show the text box when I hover the cursor over an Ebay photo. But with both browsers the text box goes away when I click and enlarge the photo.

As far as being in the way of enlarging the photo, I see what you mean with Explorer. Actually clicking on the text box does nothing, so the cursor must be moved off of the text box to enlarge the photo when using Explorer. With Chrome that is unnecessary. Clicking anywhere on the photo, including the text box, will enlarge the photo when using Chrome. So give Chrome a try. It is a a free download, and a little better than Explorer anyway, in my opinion.
