Older Schrade Display #2
Also picked up this counter display at our knife show. 15 knives, all older knives made in USA.
Maybe someone can help me out - when did Schrade introduce the "Cliphanger" knives. That would help me to bracket the date of this display. I'm sure it is from the mid 90's at the earliest.
Also a question on the LB7 - did Schrade at some point change the numbering? The LB7 had wood handles; this one has Staglon.

The LB8 was like the LB7 but had staglon handles; Dale calls it 1981 to 2000 in the catalogs.

Thanks - that is the odd thing though - the one on the display is labeled as an LB7 on the panel, and the number on the blade tang is LB7, but it has Staglon handles.tongueriver wrote:The LB8 was like the LB7 but had staglon handles; Dale calls it 1981 to 2000 in the catalogs.

I think the very first 'LB8's were LB 7's with Staglon in place of Propwood ? Then they got a stamping die that says "LB8".

An examination of stamped serial number in the brass somewhere on that LB7/LB8 might be illuminating.

The 12UH like you have in there was only catalogued from 1996-2002, which is likely the closest you can narrow the display to if you are basing its age just on the knives that are inside.
