BLACKWELL & SON

Post by FRJ »

Blackwell & Son, Sheffield. With this Liberty stamp location 1868-1879. 4 5/8" closed.
Father and son were making knives as early as 1851 and the family was making spring knives much earlier according to Tweedale.

Thanks for looking.

Unique pattern. I have never seen a knife like this one. Made in Sheffield ?
Looks like there are 4 'implements' in one end ?
Excellent condition despite app 150 ? years of age. Odd that it does not have a leather punch which was a needed tool when horses were relied on for transportation, yet it has a saw blade.
Very neat knife and and unique combination of blades & tools.

I don't search for any knife usually but I do stumble on a keeper once in a while.
I added Sheffield.
