case xx 6347 greenbone long pull

Post by Treejakal »

What do the experts think about this one? My issue is the shape of the spey blade (the hump) and looking down at the knife the shield looks a little proud and not inset or worn down. Also this would be the perfect knife to counterfeit because of its value.

if this is determined to be a fake, will some one please insert a picture of it for me?

I agree with Larry. Looks to me like probably Kutmaster blades. The blade shape is like Kutmaster, the blade stock looks thinner than what Case used. Because of their long pulls and swages on the master blades (plus they're fairly common and relatively inexpensive), the counterfeiters seem to like them when making Case fakes. ::teary_eyes::

For reference and comparison/educational purposes here's a couple of Kutmaster stockmans from AAPK archives.

Y’all beat me to it. I’m barely more than a novice myself on counterfeits if old CASE knives. But those blades stick out like a sore thumb to me.

I looked at seller's sold listings, the same knife was sold Sept 20th for $21 and change, seller doing better this time around. Seller also sold some other bogus knives.

Here are 3 legitimate green bone 47's. You can see the difference in the spay blades and master blades as well when compared to the OP knife. I agree they look like Kutmaster blades. The handles and frame on the OP knife look like good original Case but not the blades.
