I was just online and going to put in an order with Discount Cutlery, a few blades, a few shields and some pins, the whole the whole $20.16 order would easily fit in a small flat rate box. The shipping price was $15.83 to ship via USPS and $15.33 to ship via UPS. I just thought that was rather excessive since it only cost them about $8 or less to ship that small flat rate box and the USPS furnishes the box they ship with!

That seems excessive to me. Did you fellows who ordered from them encounter a similar cost? ::shrug::

GOOD GOLLY....
That is just TOO MUCH. I realize they think they need a little "handling" money that is ridiculous....

I think I would have to email them a nasty-gram and look else where for parts.

After all, what is DISCOUNT about that?

Yikes!
I just checked a few of my past orders, for 13 bags of different handle pins (ordered last year) the shipping was $9.35 via USPS. For the more recent order which was 12 bags of assorted shields and 5 blades, the shipping was $5.78. But I am in Michigan and I believe they are too.
You might want to shoot them an e-mail to see if the shipping charges are correct.
Or send me a list of what you’re looking to buy and I’ll check to see how much it is to ship it here.

I sent them an email through their website and got an answer from Max. He said their system doesn't take into account the small flat rate box but if I call him he will make sure I am only charged $8.50 shipping.
That seems fair. I will call him and place my order soon.

Just browsing their website, it looks like a good source for getting into the business of cranking out Schrade knives. How many patterns could one recreate? ::hmm::
