Another Schrade 8OT

Post by Jeffinn »

I rehandled this one in amber Aberdeen bone (Culpepper). Amber is one of my favorite Culpepper colors.
It nice when you get a few Schrades with solid Swinden keys, it makes the job a bit simpler when you don’t have to peen or blend in the bolster pins. And this knife had some really decent blades as well so there wasn’t any cleanup required on the blades.
The sun just popped out so here’s a few better photos:

It looks good Jeff! ::tu::
Any Old Timer looks good in Amber bone! Culpepper's Amber is one of my favorite colors too because it looks so good on the classic slip joint with nickel silver bolsters and brass liners. Something about the whole color combination just works well for me. Perhaps because the color is it's not too far from the Old Timer sawcut Delrin color, which is close to the original Old Timer sawcut bone color. It just pushes the right buttons for me! :mrgreen:

Very nice job Jeff!
AND... I agree with Dale, That color of bone looks really nice on the Old Timers.
I have a few of the 8 OTs I want to re-handle so, I am going to put that bone color on my want list.

I LIKE!!!

Culpepper is also makes Amber sawcut bone, though I think other jigging patterns look better to my eye.
