Fakery Respects No Season...
I'm not 100% sure if this is a Buck or a Parker Cut Co "Saturday Night Special" (a well made toothy by the way). But it ain't a straight XX Case. I've covered the main points in my messege to the seller which you'll find below. Stay Frosty, sisters and brothers.

Re: Fakery Respects No Season...
I do not believe I have ever posted in the "Counterfeit Watch" forum before, most likely because I am very poor at detecting a Counterfeit knife. However, I have learned much by reading all the other members posts here pertaining to such.
But, even I would walk away from this proclaimed Case knife shield.

That has to be one of the worst fakes ever. That shield is a dandy.

That has to be the worst attempt at faking a Case shield I remember ever seeing. Robo, your message to the seller was excellent - direct and factual, but polite.

It will be interesting to see if the knife reappears in the future in another configuration. Maybe next time with an actual Case shield? Thanks to those of you who post items like this so we can learn something or get a good laugh.

This same seller has at least one fake on eBay.
See "Pretty Obvious huh?" Post in the counterfeit thread.

That was the infamous Dremel Shield, also prevalent on the Case garbage series knives.

Re: Fakery Respects No Season...
Hmmmm....still waiting for that removal...and the bids continue. But I fell for a shield that bad in the early days too. Oddly, there are a number of genuine XX and XX USA Toothpicks for sale on The Bay (some really sweet ones by our very own Knifeaholic). Bottom line they provide a comparrison that should be obvious if a potential buyer takes a little time to do so. Thanks for all the replies; the important thing is to keep on educating each other.
