Either way I would bet that it's an ulster made knife, made in the time that schrade and ulster were in the same factory.

Paul, are you asking about the Barlow with sheepsfoot master or the one with a Clip blade ?

I was asking about the old crafty with a clip. Mike and I were talking about different knives. Little bit of confusion there on my part.

I do believe both of them are ulster made.

I posted this Craftsman razor dispenser already but somehow I missed a really interesting detail on it. The address and phone number on the packaging is Schrade's NYC address and phone number. They really were joined at the hip for a while.

I received this Craftsman 9494 today, my seventh.

The only Craftsman pocket knives I have that aren't pattern 9494, are these two.
A SCHRADE, WALDEN, CRAFTSMAN 855, first four pictures and
a CRAFTSMAN 8472, the last four pictures.

That's a remarkable find Mr Gnome! I collect Ulster 50 and 55 patterns and I have a huge pile of 'em spanning the 40s through the 60s. I also go through all the pics of the ones I don't buy to see if I can spot any 'new' variations. Out of the many hundreds I've studied yours is the first one I've seen that was sabre ground. Sears made a good decision there.

Here is a Craftsman I just got (on the way) .....
It is a Schrade Craftsman Folding Hunter.... It is the 125OT (Mustang) pattern with a set of modified 225H scales on it (I guess, at least that is what it looks like).....
According to how wide the sweep of the handle looks across from the blade release tab, this is a 1968 - 1973 design which looks the same as the early 125OT.

That is an unusual Craftsman. It may because I never looked more carefully, but I have never seen that combination. Here is a more well-known version:

Sure.... I'm sorry I didn't make that more clear.
What I meant was the sweep at the lock tab cut-out....
Here is a pic that better explains....

The top knife is an early Schrade 125OT (1968 - 1973) version that has Schrade Walden on the tang stamp.
The lower knife is a post 1973 Schrade 125OT. The cut out area is smaller.....

Maybe that will clear up the muddy area from my previous post....

Thanks Mike. Although i have a few Schrade-Walden and Schrade 125OT's, i had not noticed this difference in the cut out size for the liner lock.

Also, usually, the nail nick on the earlier ones is closer to the tip.

I haven't really gotten into the few delrin craftsman's that I have mostly due to a lack of pictures. I took some of my 9554's today. It started with just one knife, y'all know how that goes...

Here is an un-opened countertop display of the second American Eagle run for Sears by Schrade. It is the only one I have ever seen. I did not get the sheaths. You can read more here:
