This is an Ambassador Knife need advice

Howdy, This articular knife as seen some decades in the past, Would you call this a cracked ice, serpentine? made by Imperial, Colonel? and what decade would you guess this knife would be? It has some nice patina, I'm guessing it could be a nice knife to have as long as its away from the other knifes, to prevent from "gassing" so give me your 2 cents worth

Yes, I agree with cracked ice. From you pictures, I think I see shrinkage has begun in the scales, but since I can't see the blades and it has no bolsters, it is hard to tell if the nasty "out-gassing" has started. If you want to post up-close pictures of the metal parts it would be easier to tell.

Are the scales set up to where all you'd have to do is yank the celluloid out, reglue some acrylic or Kirinite in its place and call it a day? or is it a bit more complicated, and pinned into place?

I have not seen any of this type knife outgas and I don't see any reason to that think they are. These handles are normally pretty stable. I wouldn't worry about it.

I agree about this little Colonial-made cutie not outgassing. I have a couple or three of them, and they are fun knives. Very slim in the pocket, but still feel good in the hand, and made with good steel. The one that I have carried the most has a wider Main blade, and a screwdriver/caplifter secondary.
I am guessing that the knife was made in the 60's, but I may be way off on that. I do know that they were made to be an inexpensive Advertising knife.
The handles are actually thin stickers that fit into a brass edging. It may be celluloid, but feels a lot like vinyl. As long as they don't peel off, they are fine.

Most of these knives were advertising items by Ambassador which was started in 1951 as a secondary brand of Colonial.The celluloid used in these knives seem to have been very stable.If any problems arise it is usually curling of the edges or shrinkage.I do not recall ever seeing one out-gas.The latest I have is one from 1982. The original one was likely from either the 1950's or 60's in my opinion.
