Favorite Blues/Rock songs/guitarists
I guess I’ve cast a wide net with my post topic… Show me anything you like — blues guitarists, blues songs, blues/rock songs, singers, guitarists..I enjoy a very broad spectrum of music so I’m interested to see what other people on AAPK like..I’ve been hooked on Samantha Fish for about a year now and I can’t get enough of her old stuff, her new stuff and I can’t wait to see her live her she comes to my area again..Her new stuff is more main stream but check out her stuff from 2009 until 2017..I love it all though..This one is a power blues/rock ballad and she just rips it up at the end(and in the middle solo)… Her outro just drips the begging, pleading blues guitar sound if you know what I mean?… Thanks for sharing!https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=GkCLr7Us_Zc

Synyster Gates for Avenged Sevenfold is a great guitarist, and if we can include bassist, Justin Chancellor for Tool, the second bassist of the band, is one of the best. Daron Malakian for System of a Down is awesome guitarist too.
Re: Favorite Blues/Rock songs/guitarists
Darrell "Dimebag" Abbott was one of the best guitarist for Pantera, before he was shot and killed on stage at a concert in 2004.

I'm a classic rock kind of guy that loves guitar-centric rock (in no particular order): Jimmy Page, Joe Perry, Keith Richards, Carlos Santana, Eric Clapton, Ted Nugent, Eddie Van Halen, Joe Bonamassa, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Nancy Wilson, Angus Young, Mike Campbell, Billy Gibbons, Neal Schon - and many more...

Hard to pick just one so I’ll throw in some lesser-known (or under-appreciated guitarists like Ry Cooder, Eddie Shaver, J.J. Cale, Leroy Parnell, and Rick Kurtz. And a harmonica prodigy-genius and singer, Delbert McClinton, an under-appreciated rock and blues artist - as good as any IMHO. Here’s some righteous Texas blues.

Thanks for that Ryan, I was not familiar with them. Here’s a very early version, same song, bootleg video of SRV. Amazing.

Great bootleg Ken!
Derrick Trucks from Tedschi Trucks is Butch Truck’s (Allman Brothers drummer) son—he learned from Dicky Betts and I could only imagine who else gave him pointers in that circle of influence.. Here’s one more from Samantha Fish https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=GL9rBAjut2g

Re: Favorite Blues/Rock songs/guitarists
Eddy Shaver was tutored by Dickie Betts also. Eddy was touring with the Allman Brothers Band when he was just 14, playing their gigs and learning from Betts. BTW that’s the same age Delbert McClinton was when he recorded the harmonica solo on Bruce Channel’s hit “Hey Baby”. Some are just born with it!Stanwade wrote: ↑Tue Apr 21, 2020 2:50 am Great bootleg Ken!Derrick Trucks from Tedschi Trucks is Butch Truck’s (Allman Brothers drummer) son—he learned from Dicky Betts and I could only imagine who else gave him pointers in that circle of influence..
