Show Us Your Camillus Knives!

The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

I just purchased this knife for best offer. It's a Camillus 165, 3 blade, stockman pocket knife. It comes with the original sharpening steel, in the original box. It will go good with my Camillus 179, 3 blade, stockman pocket knife in the original box, also with the sharpening steel. The 165 box has sharpening instructions on the bottom, the 179 has no instructions. Going by the two pictures, I can't really tell what the actual condition of the knife is. From what I can see, it looks like it's in pretty nice shape. When it arrives, it will be thoroughly inspected. It will receive whatever attention it needs, if any. I will take pictures and post them in the appropriate location(s).

I'm looking at a lot of threads today that I don't think I've ever posted on.
So in other words I have a lot of time on my hands today.
Here are a couple of Camillus knives I've had for a while and I think both
of them are in excellent condition and I've done nothing, but wipe them
clean with a soft cloth.

This morning, this knife got added to my collection. A CAMILLUS 165, 3 blade, stockman pocket knife. It is in the original box and has the sharpening steel rod. It is in near mint condition. It required no cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

That's a pretty one, Skip.
What's the size of that compared to the 179?

The 179, on the right in the picture, is 3 7/8" closed.

Nice knives! ::tu::
For a complete set you need the #177 knife.

By the way, do you know that #179 knife has two variations?

took me a minute Vitaly but after close scrutiny I see that one has a bolster line and the other does not. I always wonder in these cases if the bolster line was added later in the run after it had started without the bolster line or started in the run and later removed ::shrug:: curious minds want to know

Maybe more?
I noticed the difference in the shield and the bolsters.
Mine doesn't have the embellished shield (like your top one) or the embellished bolsters (like your bottom one).

Both knives shown by me have embellished bolsters, just the top one does not have a very good lighting angle  .
In all catalogs, #179 has embellished bolsters and shields. This model was discontinued in 1987-88 and around this time, Camillus canceled the embellished bolsters on #67 knife. I think that my bottom knife was one of the last (by the way, it was supplied in a standard non-gift box), and your knife was the very last (#67 with main blade of #179).

Hope you saw the answer to your question too :) .

Last night I purchased this knife for best offer. It is a CAMILLUS 177, in the original box, with steel sharpening rod. It looks like it's in VERY good condition. I'll check it over when I get it. Pictures will be taken and posted in the appropriate location(s).

***** EDIT *****
I added a close-up of the price tag. It is not attached to anything. It's loose in the box.

If the price tag really belongs to this knife, then this is 1974 ::tu:: .
