Old Case Pearl Knife
I don't know if this knife is straight or not. I question the shield. It is on upside down and has been installed on top of the pearl material instead of embedded in it. Makes you think if it left the factory that way it would be worn smooth by now or else have been dislodged. A lot of these older pearl knives don't have shields at all. Isn't it uncommon to see a shield on a knife with pearl handles this old? Maybe the knife has been fabricated?

Not a Case expert or collector, but that cut-out to reach the long pull is certainly not factory.

Looks very suspicious to me. For all the reasons already stated, plus it’s very unusual to see a single-blade knife that small from that era.

Another Jim Parker creation?

Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

Highly doubtful. Doesn’t have any “Parkerisms”. JMO. Parker wouldn’t have put the shield on upside down and on top of the pearl covers. Case knives I’ve seen from that era had inlets cut into the cover for the shields, and so do all Parker creations I’ve seen. Be interesting to see what Tom McCandless thinks of it.

Well the blade may be an Authentic W R but that’s probably the extent of it. I agree, doesn’t look Parker at all. The guys that did Parker’s work would have done a much neater job. The Pearl covers appear glued on which wouldn’t happen with a WR era knife. Shield appears pinned but doesn’t look right for the knife. Looks like somebody is trying to pass it off as real. Ken, I agree, if it has only one blade that would be odd and of course the shield would be inlet. Doubt that it fetches much money.Mumbleypeg wrote: ↑Sun Jun 14, 2020 10:06 pmHighly doubtful. Re: Old Case Pearl Knife
It brought 0 bids. Too many fitment issues on that one. Definitely a Frankenknife. The entire blade sits to proud above the liners & scales. If you look at the top down view, bolsters are uneven. The rear bolster looks to be polished down entirely too much, plus either the blade to pin fitment is loose or that blade was not made for a single blade knife and has way too much angle from front to rear. Just my .02 cents worth, that's not worth a dime.
