hey everyone im doug

Post by cactus2020 »

Hey everyone, I just got started collecting knives.
I collect arrowheads and cactus also, i have a webpage about the arrowheads ive found, its dougsarrowhead.com.
I really like schrade knifes I've owned them all my life but i always use them till there gone.
i have a lb7 with brass bolsters that is tarnished any way to make them bright again. ive been buying all the knives that ive owned in the past, small old timers...ie 14ot 18ot 12ot 12uh and so on. so far just replacing some of my old favorites.
you guys got alot of info here, it will take me awhile to wade through it all.
thanks doug

welcome doug, looking forward to more from you. any non-abrasive metal polish will clean that brass. flitz is my choice but there are others.

Hey Doug,

Welcome. Glad to have your join us here. ::tu::
If the knife with the tarnished bolsters is a user and not one you're keeping back in mint condition, you can try cleaning it with toothpaste. Just put a dab on a soft cloth and rub the bolsters until they shine. You'll need to clean the residue off after you're done, but it' fast and cheap. Might not be so good to try this on a mint knife.
