From Ulster to Imperial
As you can tell by the pictures this old Ulster Scout had seen better days. I cut it apart and was surprised to find out that it was a Swinden key build. A learning experience for me! I drilled out the bolsters and used a shell handled Imperial blade and kept the screwdriver blade from the Ulster.

That turned out great!
Replacing Swinden keys is fairly straight forward and is easy once you’ve done a few. The muskratman video on Swinden key replacement helps a lot.

Thanks Jeff. I watched that video and it was well worth the time. I'm glad I did because I just assumed this knife was pinned. How many other companies used this system besides Schrade?

Re: From Ulster to Imperial
I’m not sure. Dale could probably tell you that. Ulster was produced by Schrade so it makes sense that they were Swinden key knives.
