How are you dealing with the new covid-19 restrictions in your state?

Here in Kentucky the Governor is flexing his muscles again with reinstatement of new restrictions due to a small increase in cases of COVID-19. He allowed businesses to reopen only recently but it looks to be short lived. He is dead set on killing the Kentucky small businesses. Hospitals have plenty of capacity and the mortality rate is very low, but he promises more restrictions to come. I have restricted my activities and built a few ‘display cases’ for my knife collection just to occupy my time and beat the boredom as I have not been able to get out to my regular hangouts in search of new additions for my addiction. What are you doing to overcome any restrictions in your state if they have been reimposed? The pictures in this post are the cases built just to occupy my time during this boredom

As far as I know in Indiana nothing has changed. Some store are demanding face masks to enter but that's not the end of the world for me.

Here, up in Saskatchewan, Canada. We are pretty much fully open again, with businesses in charge of how they deal with customers. Haven't had any spike in cases at all, it's a lot like a bad flu season, not even that .

If they try to go back to lockdown, there be "riots" in me book . At least are provincial government, for the good part, is perty decent. There's no plan's to shut everything down again, especially with a fall election coming on .

Don't worry Louis, just let your idiot "governor" bring it on. Can't wait too see all the civil disobedience/lawsuits .

The above restrictions seem to shift back and forth uncertainly from day to day.

However, to answer your op question Dan, we spend a lot of time with Mother Nature. Fortunately, the lake/park is practically in our back yard. (No mask required)
Anna spends much time on Wechat communicating with friends and family with video and chat all over the world. She is also in her garden and taking care of all her little animal friends.
I spend much time with my family Ancestry research, I read a lot, currently reading: "Salt to the Sea" by Ruta Sepetys. The book is from 2016, during Winter, 1945, it concerns the thousands of desperate refugees flocking to the coast in the midst of a Soviet advance vying for passage aboard the "Wilhelm Gustloff" a ship that promised safety and freedom. Three of the four torpedoes fired from the Soviet Submarine S-13 changed that safety, resulting in killing estimates of nine thousand people, estimated five thousand being children.
You can look up the author: "Ruta Sepetys" at amazon.com she is a wonderful writer.
I also spend time with my photography. When the TV is on it's usually on the History channel or TCM.

This is going to be with us for a long time folks. So just deal with it appropriately, protect your family, yourself your neighbors and observe the rules.

As far as our lock down activities we pretty much are living Ground Hog day every day.
Between Ancestry research, reading, making sawdust in the workshop, spending time out doors enjoying the fresh air and getting some exercise and limiting our travel activities to only what is necessary, every day is the same.

Over here in my state we started the mandatory wearing of masks as of today, this has not been implemented here since the Spanish Flu epidemic over 100 years ago. It is a small price to pay, but it is going to take some getting used to. I have about 10 washable face masks, but i am just about to purchase a couple of full face PVC medical shield masks, just to wear when i go out for my exercise in the morning, i think they may be more comfortable for being able to breath a bit more comfortably. I've been working like a maniac the last few months - barely have time to eat. It's crazy ... and it's getting old. Wish I had time to be bored. Here in PA - restaurant capacity has been dropped from 50% to 25% ... we haven't been venturing out in public at all (except to golf and fish). Good thing the wife & I get along ... imagine this situation is hard on couples that aren't so lucky

I've been working everyday in a factory making packaging for 'essential' products. So no real change daily except masks, extra cleaning and additional rules. Away from work we're spending more time at home and actually liking it. Reading more, piddling around the house and yard more and getting fatter. Saving a little money though. I believe this pandemic is the real deal and that cooperation and following science based advice is our best path forward. The hardest thing for us is that our families are 350 miles away and our son is 1200 miles away. How I wish we could visit them. But I fear bringing the less healthy ones something that might bring them harm.

(Some counties have more cows than people!) We live in one of those counties having more than 20 cases, but we’re in a rural part of the county. We haven’t changed much of anything, working here on the ranch and going to town for necessities every week or so - closest grocery store is about 10 miles from here. It’s not usually crowded anyway, but they’re following the mandates. We are taking precautions when we do go to town but fortunately for us it’s pretty much business as usual. I guess it’s one of the benefits of country living.
