Buck Creek Hunter

I picked this Buck Creek hunter up today for $35. It was in a case full of knives at a flea market. Seems to me that it is very well-made. It still has the factory edge on it and does not look like that it has been used. I’m having a hard time finding any pricing on this Knife. Was wondering if $35 was a good deal. Came with original sheath.

Good looking stag on that knife. I own two Buck Creek's, a whittler and a sod buster. The ones I own are very well made. They are German made knives that were originally named after a real location in either Kentucky or Tennessee, I can't remember which. I think you paid a good price on it.

I had a Buck Creek trapper, very pretty with blue bone handles. I gave the knife to someone who admired it more than I.
The Box said "German" on it and the blades were stamped
"GERMAN STAINLESS"
Hand Made"
I strongly believe my knife was made in china.

FWIW the older Buck Creek knives were made in Solingen, Germany and will have "Solingen" on the tang stamp.

I'm not certain where the new ones hail from but I suspect it's somewhere in Asia.

Nice folding hunter! I only have one Buck Creek knife now(a stag whittler).I had a folding guard model with celluloid handles that kamakazi'd itself early on in life. Be glad that the handles on yours aren't celluloid.

I've got a Jumbo Stockman that I'm getting ready to remove the celluloid handles from. After years of being left in an old Jeep (both originally being my great-uncle's), then years of just sitting in a basket on the top of a cabinet here at the house, I'm surprised that finally, in proper storage,e it's starting to go bad. I started to freak out back whne you showed that folding guard model, and now my fears are beginning to come true. I'm going with some stag, most likely. Real MOP is way too expensive, and I'm not too crazy about the synthetic stuff, even though there are some acrylics that even mimic the opalescence of MOP. MOP, in my opinion, is better on small (3" or under) knives.
