Case Tested "Sleeveboard" Jack With Clip and Punch????

Post by herbva »

I'm wondering if this knife could be legit? I can't tell what pattern this might be (14?), and am not familiar with a 2-blade jack with the combination of a clip and a punch. (But, I am aware of the seller's dubious reputation.) Any thoughts on this one?

Dunno much about Case folders but jacks with a punch secondary are "harness jacks" and they do have a strong collector following.

I don’t recognize it. Shape looks a little like the 62035 but seller description says 3-1/2 inches which is too long. Maybe someone else will recognize it. ::shrug::

When I see anything from this seller I just pass on by without looking. Wouldn’t buy from them even if it was a legit knife. ::huff::

Cool looking knife but too many flags to be a legitimate Case knife in my opinion.
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

Case did make a harness jack on the 35 pattern frame, 3-1/4" closed.

I had one recently and IIRC I posted it in the Case forum.

To me the posted knife looks like a Robeson frame that has had a Case blade and a punch installed. The posted knife is definitely fake/cobbled IMO.

Knifeaholic, those were my thoughts also, however, I kept wondering about the handles. The handles look just like the rough black handles used on Case knives. I know that Robeson used similar handles, were they exactly the same or was the jigging pattern different? The Case rough black handles always seemed to me to be modeled on the old Robeson worm grooved jigging, however I'm not sure that the imitation (rough black) jigging on the two brands is identical.

Run, dont walk. Tennessee and Ky have unfortunately been put on the do not buy list from ebay. 80 % of the fakes originate from that area. Not sure why.

Not a legitimate Case knife. Very common for this seller to offer such junk.
If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.

Tenn. just happens to be the home state of a previous owner of WR Case knives--they have all the materials to produce any/all mixes of Case hybrids knifes that can be easily assembled and passed off as made from old stock. Kentucky friends broker these knives and various parts at flea markets, ebay and knife shows--hence Ky. Teen. connection.
