first one seen
I have never seen an 880 with a post-Walden tang stamp. Now I have. I am not bidding.

Re: first one seen
You tweaked my interest. I have never hunted for one. 880 is listed in both 1974 & 1975 catalogs. Schrade could make a lot of knives in two years of production. When I punched 880 in the search box I quickly found two more available. Am I missing something?

I don't always respond to great posts but I always appreciate seeing them. Thanks for posting!

I don't think that you are missing anything. I had read on this forum that so-and-so had never seen one so whenever I saw an ebay listing with an 880 I took note, and I never did see one either with a post-Walden tang stamp. However, I had no interest in the pattern anyway unless it was bone, so I never looked at many of them. For my purposes I think this thread could be closed and sorry if I wasted people's time.

Great, now I'll never get that 1 minute back. Thanks Cal!
C'mon! It's good and informative. It's not a pattern I chase either so I learned something new with just those three posts. Glad ya put it up!

Re: first one seen
No time wasted. No need for apology! I had forgotten a 880 even existed. I like looking up Schrade stuff and seeing how much of it gets into my long-term memory.
It was my "first one seen" too.

What was I thinking?! Here is one that I got from Hal Brandenburg back in the days when such things were possible. That thar not be plastic.

Hi, Jacknifeben! Not sure you posted where you wanted to, but your knife is an 8833, probably a pre-1946 Schrade.

TR that is a beautiful 880!

Thanks for the response on the 8833. Jackknife contracted a lot of knives from Schrade but I was told this was not one of those them, only one I have ever seen.
