Difference between backpocket and single blade trapper?

Is there a difference between the blade shape of a Bose style backpocket and single blade trapper? Best I can tell they are the same general clip point shape/pattern only the backpocket is a larger knife, usually 4.5” where the single blade trapper is typically a 4” or under knife

Would love to hear from those more knowledgeable than I...

I don’t have a single blade trapper, but here is a pic that compares the backpocket to the clip on a regular trapper. The backpocket is on top and the trapper on the bottom.

The backpocket appears to be a tad wider (too to bottom). It angles downward more than the trapper, and has a bit more belly and comes up to a sharper point. Also the backpocket has a nice swedge on the top of blade, and the nail nick is farther forward as well.

Thank you! That does help. I prefer the BP and I think it’s because I prefer the bit of “recurve” and the placement of the nail nick

If you look in Levine's Guide(2nd or 3rd edition)you will see an illustration of Remington blade shapes.The backpocket is called an,"A clip" by Remington and the bottom one a,"B clip".

Glad it helped. There is one other consideration with the backpocket you may want to take into account though. Mine is the bare head model and some have two bolsters. Mine is very thin overall which I like. My buddy’s is the two bolster model and his is quite a bit thicker. Just thought I’d throw that out there as it may or may not matter to you. Personally I prefer the bare head CV iteration just because of the over all thinness. YMMV
