Wow! That is one impressive, mouth-watering picture. The Colt knocks my socks off too! My paltry few pale in comparison.

It would be tough to cover the variations of this beautiful versatlle material . Just the contributions of Herman Williams could fill a book. However seeing the first picture in this thread reminded me of a grouping I have that frankly I have had on display for years. In fact the dust was so thick that i had to open the case to take the pic. I really like gun knife sets and displays. This is an 80tys series colt 45 with stag handles also I had stag caps put on the magazine bottoms. the leather magazine holders were custom made by the El Paso saddlery . The two stag knives are factory Schrade USA PH1 and PH2. I though it would be interesting to show the same idea as in the first picture. Matching pieces like this realy stand out out a show or shoot. I do not do much of that anymore so no one really gets to see it. the Schrades are New old stock and the 45 has had no more that 12 rounds put through it . LT

Great looking stag, LT and Herb. 6383, you know how I feel about that Case fixed blade. I've got a Colt 01980XSE.

Stag is my favorite handle material. I love the color, natural material and variability of each knife
when made with stag.

Here is my newest Case stag. I got it about 3 weeks ago. ( Bonus is the John Deere Logo)

Stag is beautiful and I wish I had more stag handled knives! Here are the ones that I have:

The big Case was special gift from a dear friend who gave it to me about 2 weeks before he went to be with the Lord.
Two old raggedy Case's with the stag worn smooth, a Case Tiny Trapper, a Browning lockback and a Queen #52 Moose.

To me the Queen Moose has the prettiest stag.

The Stag in the original post is beautiful but that set you posted LT is over the moon! I picked up a set of elk stag handles for a 1911. I'm thinking about putting them on this winter. It should look nice!

Hi Dale it has been a while hope you guys are OK. Here is another stag piece. it is a S&W 41 mag. You do not see this caliber much. It was designed to hit like a 44 Mag and handle like a 357. A favorite with road police back in the day it will swiss cheese an engine block also handy in camp should a black bear come up behind you to steal your morning bacon. I imagine it would leave a lasting impression on an intruder coming into your house but after going through him you might go right on through the walls. It is pretty to carry everyone notices the stag. LT

I was looking through a roll of old knives and came across this piece that I have not had out for years. It is a Schrade USA 6 OT that was rehandled in some thick amazing stag. This knife is about one in thick at the back. It is like new it even has a one aremed bandit attachment on the blade ( for one handed opening. ). You will notice I have not even polished the tarnished bolsters.( which will shine like new ) I am considering putting it up for sale on my store (here on AAPK). Since this thread came up, I though I would show it and if anyone has an interest just let me know. Either way if you like stag you should enjoy the pics. LT

Probably shouldn't get me started on stag...it's one of my top 2 favorite handle materials to collect (the other one is ivory, of course).

I think I could fill several pages of photos of all my stag knives, but I'll try to limit myself to just a few select examples (in no particular order).
