Who likes stag?

Here’s a CASE 5375 8 dot that I just love. I’m not a fan of thick stag at all. I really like how the older CASE knives had nice thin stag.

Some beautiful antler being shown here! My preferences though lie in slightly older stag.Here are a few from the vault.Virtually all are a hundred years old or more.The tiny knife with the birds-eye rivets dates to the 1830's.

Here are a couple of mine that have been rehandled with "Antique Stag" (one is genuine antique stag that was taken from an old butcher knife and the other is actually modern stag that's been dyed to look antique).

On the second Wostenholm some people refer to this as,"pressed stag".I think it occurs naturally rather than being manipulated and I call it,"popcorn stag".

This is a Lepre it is made from an entire antler of some kind of deer or goat animal I believe european. It is 20 inches open and the blade is 3.5 inches wide . It closes like a bear trap. It is impossible for me to get a shiney pic of the blade. but it is high polish. If you look close you can see the animal the hunters are chasing in the etch. it has this type of antler. stag is over 12 inches. it weighs 1.5 pounds. The tang marked Lepre has a pic of a rabbit which is what I guess?? means rabbit .

Very unusual knife...I never saw one like that before.

I like pretty much ALL types of stag, but I am particularly drawn to the gnarly and popcorn stag like is on these two Schatt & Morgan #69 Barlows.

Hi Dale it has been a while hope you guys are OK. Here is another stag piece. it is a S&W 41 mag. You do not see this caliber much. It was designed to hit like a 44 Mag and handle like a 357. A favorite with road police back in the day it will swiss cheese an engine block also handy in camp should a black bear come up behind you to steal your morning bacon. I imagine it would leave a lasting impression on an intruder coming into your house but after going through him you might go right on through the walls. It is pretty to carry everyone notices the stag. LT

This began as 85 year old advertising hype (1935 Smith & Wesson) that a pistol round from the 357, 41, or 44 magnums will "Swiss cheese an engine block". By saying this, you are implying that the round will go thru a cast iron engine block and come out the other side one after the other. There is no way this is possible.

I am looking at buying my first stag, am looking at a couple of Case, i really like yours, can i ask, did you buy online or at a retail outlet where you could see and handle what you were buying? Why i ask is looking at a lot of websites the photos vary so much, and i am sick of buying online only to be disappointed when it arrives. But i really like yours.
