orvet - Dale,
I don't go to knife shows or at least I haven't yet. I go to gem and mineral shows!
I may start going to knife shows once I get enough knives in my "personal collection" line to take with me. I have three levels of works (with some overlap): Ebay knives; custom knives; and the "personal collection" series.
The Ebay ones are my lowest cost knives as most go to Ebay looking for a real deal.
The custom knives are ususally ones sent to me or ordered with specific stone or knife requests.
The "personal collection series" is what I do for my own personal expectations or likes. They have the very best stone and knives. Some are engraved as I do barter trades to get them engraved.
I do sell some custom quality and even occasionally one or more from my "personal collection" on Ebay if I am trying to rasie funds for a major upgrade or stone purchase.
Anyway here is a picture of a custom knife ordered in Wingate Pass agate. Wingate Pass agate was found on the China Lake military base and the base has not allowed any digging or collectors to the site since the 1960's so it is a nearly impossible stone to get especially in a size big enough for a knife scale.
