Oddity- Identification help

Post by Ridgegrass »

Flea market find. 2 3/8" long closed including integral bail. Handle impressed "USE VICTORS". "Blade" stamped: No. 62. Not sharp. Looks too small to be a hoof pick. Any guesses as to it's function? J.O'.

There is a similar blade in what are referred to as "Type-Setter's" knives, but those are larger, have three blades and are in a stockman style frame.

Find out who "VICTOR'S" were or are and you'll have your answer, but I can tell you it isn't a better mousetrap.

Could be used to disarm one, I suppose.

And VICTOR'S traps all had numbers.

I don't know anything about the knife, but I can tell you that this IS THE BETTER MOUSETRAP. It might even be called the cat's miaow. They work! I have been fooling with those worthless wooden ones for years but this baby is the new normal for my vermin control.

I will have to try out those "Tomcat" traps. However i have had great success with the Victor mouse traps. Some of them have over 50 mice trapped.

Thanks all. I found a VICTORS industrial supplier and am in the process of finding out if they ever gave out "favors" like this.. I'll post the answer if I get one.
