I called Mr. Frank today ,"Franks Classic Knives". GEC is out of bovine cattle bone. They ran out during the production of the Northfield Antique Autumn Natural bone #23LL Trappers. More GEC#23LLs will be assembled later this year. The #33 filler knives have been released. GEC is making parts for future knife runs right now, until more bone arrives. That is all I know right now.

Sure be glad when they can finish up the 23LL Autumn run. Paid for mine 2 weeks ago but no one knows when they'll be ready. I know they ran out of bone but it's funny they had enough to start making other knives. Smaller knives, but still...

Olde Towne Cutlery just posted a batch of Northfield Antique Autumn natural #23LL knives. Maybe GEC has bone now ???? (not confirmed) This is a good sign.

I bought a two blade GEC#23 Trapper from Franks Classic Knives. I cleaned and oil it . And I wrapped the yellow cloth around a blade . I stuck the knife between my knees/thighs and I worked each blade to break it in. I sent both knives to Darren Orrell. The Queen was jammed from being poorly made and the factory was closed when I bought it on Evil-bay. Darren fixed it without completely taking the knife apart. The Queen Mountain Man is so smooth and wonderful now. Darren removed the main blade from my Northfield GEC#23 Antique Autumn Natural bone knife. I love the phat spey blade. I own every 2020 GEC#23LL knife. I also bought most of the 2020 Two blade #23 Trappers including the Franks SFO and the best two Club knives. So I made it no since in keeping the main blade. The pull is a 5-6 on the Northfield #23 custom. This knife is perfect for me. I am very please with both knives. Darren had a real hard time living is CA., with all those crazy fires. It was so smokey he could not work in his garage. I told him forget about the knives , I can buy more from Mr. Frank. I am thankful that Darren and his family are alive and their house did not burn down. Darrel spends most his time in the CA National Forrest. Every one of his favorite spots is burned up. CA. is heart breaking right now. Darren is alive and my prayer was answered.

Onearm, thank you so much for sharing the lovely pictures. The droppoint delete on the 23 looks excellent. I too love those bud fat spay blades.

I have a cherished SARPNT but I can’t bring myself to use it. I think you are on the right path with the blade delete to get a spay user. Thank might have to follow your lead on that one.
