Hi, I am a new member here and am new to knife collecting. Just would like to say hello and hope to gather much usefull information. I am starting to collect Case pocket knives and need all the help I can get!! So many beautiful knives! Please offer any advice and recommended reading and websights! Thanks in advance.

Glad to have you join us. Have you chosen a particular style, pattern, era etc. to collect? With so many Case knives out there it might be helpful to narrow your search at least starting out. Some collectors will focus on a pattern such as Muskrats or Trappers. Some focus on handle material such as stag, pearl, or some particular type of bone. Some go for the special issue items. Some just collect whatever strikes their fancy. There's really no wrong way to collect. The main thing is to enjoy what you're doing, and take care of your knives once you get them.
Hang around here, read some of the older posts as well as the new ones. Ask questions. There are lots of knowledgable and friendly folks here who will be glad to help you.

Hello Mr. Mike, welcome...but you can't have the Case knives all by yourself. I'm here to compete with you.
You'll enjoy this site whether you just sit back and read or interact with the gents who live here and share what would take you decades to learn.

I now have from my advertising several old knives including 7 Case XX and a couple old Tested XX along with a handful of decent XX USA at the cost of $550.00 to pay my labor who did the work at these jobs and by my estimate I would of paid way over a thousand$ buying or bidding these knives outright. Tell me I'm not a real sick puppy. I don't mind sharing this being I've worked my area. I should take this knife for work program on the road....People think I'm nuts...but you should of seen the ole whittlers and a couple of stags pop up and a candy stripe and a Tested XX christmas tree celluloid. That's worth a half day or a whole day of working! Yea, boy double howdy this is the place for knife nuts. With everyone else I've met here , I now know I'm either totally sane or that I'm not the only nut running loose. Anyway, have fun and watch out fer counterfits and don't let the rest of us run you over chasing the Case knives. By the way, it's the standard procedure that the new guy here notify the rest of us when you see things like the Case TESTED XX Muskrat Cracked Ice or a TESTED XX stag trapper (in mint condition) and you must not bid on it in reverance to your senior members who may want to bid.........got that new guy?
