I have a snake

Post by Marine Recon 1/3 »

I bought this aboard ship, USS Belleau Wood in 1982. I carry it and use it while hunting. Until recently I didn’t know that it was only offered for 3 years and is now a collector’s item. No box, no paperwork and the sheath has something to be desired.

Nice! I like the design. Didn’t know about it until I saw one about a year ago.

Welcome to AAPK! ::handshake::
You appear to be one of Uncle Sams Misguided Children, there are several Marines on the forum.
I had to look up your Sidewinder Case and they are pretty pricey on Ebay.
An interesting knife with an interesting lock. ::tu::

Semper Fi Marine. Welcome aboard. Grab a rack, stow your gear and stay awhile.
Your Case seems to be in fair decent condition for being used all those years. Do you collect or accumulate? (Collectors have focus)

::welcome:: to AAPK, those Sidewinders are pretty cool and interestingly designed knives. When I started collecting Case knives I had to have one. The sheath I have is pretty thin and deforms easily. If you store the knife in the sheath, watch for Verdigris, a greenish substance that will form on the brass parts of the knife. It will cause putting of the metal.
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!
