So I messed around some more with the laynyards. I think I like the 1/2 split ring solution the best. The double loop seems bulky bit stronger and the single loop I wonder how it will hold up long term. What do you folks think.

These are all calf Lace. 4 strand braids.

Kind words Jp. I'm just stubborn and keep trying for the most part. If it wasnt for you tube and the internet I might still be looking at pieces of lace lol

Wayne (oldprof) was kind enough to share what rogers bone is via an email. He had responded to the post but it didnt come up so he saidnincould.post. so here is the email . Thanks Wayne I learned something new today.

  I posted a response to your question about Rogers bone in the thread, but
I do not know why .t didn't show up.
So here goes..The Rogers company supplied bone to the industry both before
and after WW11-including much of
the military contract knives.The color(brown/tan) and the jigging pattern
remain easily recognizable.The company
stopped production about 1961 or 62.Case in the XX era made some knives
that had handles that were called Late
Rogers bone.The few of these that I have are a deep red/wine color with the
Roger jigging pattern.Current Case
offerings include several as having Rogers bone.I have no idea what they
mean.

So I think this is a working laynyard. Double loop on top so you can loop around bail.
